E-news Dec. 7, 2018

To members and friends of Aikido Hokuryukai:

We hope everyone is enjoying the run-up to the holiday season.

A reminder: our December schedule is online. The kids’ classes are cancelled after Dec. 22 in favour of the holiday. For the regular classes, Dec. 24, 25, 31 (and Jan. 1) are cancelled.

As usual, we will hold our annual winter party early in the new year to avoid the crowded social calendar of late December, as well as to brighten up the winter months. If you are willing to host us or know of a suitable place to hold the gathering, please let us know. Usually about 35 people attend and it is open to friends, family and your kids.

We previously mentioned the passing of our friend and dojo mate Mike McGuigan. We have posted a memorial page in his honour on the website. If you know Mike and would like to comment, you can do so on the page.

Osawa-sensei’s teaching schedule in Canada for 2019 is now confirmed. Summer camp will be held June 22-28 in Victoria and the fall seminar will be held the weekend of October 18-20 in Quebec City.

As well, an Exam Committee seminar that will include yudansha testing is tentatively scheduled for April.

More information on these events should be available soon.

Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.

Regards,

Jim Barnes
