Training in Montreal

Four of our members (Yumi, Jim, Vadim K. and Arunas) visited Montreal last weekend to attend the seminar with Yamada- and Waka-senseis. It was a fantastic event, a great chance to catch up with old Aikido friends and make new ones.
Yamada-sensei amazes everyone with his very powerful technique (at the age of 80!), and Waka-sensei, O-sensei’s great grandson, presented a fantastic set of classes covering the basics in detail.
We look forward to seeing both shihan again soon.

Kids’ class update

Kids’ classes are back in full swing, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. There’s a free trial class for any child that wants to attend a class, so please let your friends know. Added bonus… if you bring a friend and he/she winds up joining the dojo, you get a free month of dues!

Birthday celebration

Yumi-sensei’s birthday is coming up… we will celebrate by going out to dinner after class on Sunday, September 30. Details are in the dojo.

CAF dues

Canadian Aikido Federation annual dues of  $20 for 2018/2019 are now due. A list of members will be posted at the dojo to track status of these payments.

October seminar with Osawa-sensei

The seminar is coming up in a month. All the information is online… please be sure to register with Jim in the dojo (not online) and sign up for the Saturday banquet.
We are organizing this seminar in association with Aikido Tendokai and J.C.C.C. Aikikai. We are asking all  members to help, along with the Tendokai and J.C.C.C. members, so please volunteer when you have a chance. The basic tasks are going to be:

> Registration: We need a couple of people to work the desk and welcome and register participants.
> After class: the dojo needs to be cleaned and the mats wiped down. All members present are expected to help with this.

Saturday, Oct. 20
