Aikido Hokuryukai is now accepting beginners for training. Beginners may take one free trial class, subject to the pandemic precautions described below. Please let us know in advance if you would like to register for a trial class.
After the trial class, they must take a special discount membership package to continue. The package includes:
> three months of training
> a gi (uniform) and
> Canadian Aikido Federation (CAF) fees where applicable.
The cost is $260, including HST. Beginners may attend all scheduled classes.
At present we practice on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. There is also a special Zoom class on Monday.
The dojo will observe all government and CAF regulations regarding the pandemic.
All members are required to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. All must sign a contact sheet/waiver before each class, attesting that they are in good health and have not been exposed to COVID-19 infection.
Any member feeling ill must not attend class. Any member exhibiting signs of illness will be asked to leave the class.
All members must obey the instructions of the class instructor, which may include wearing masks on the mat, social distancing on the mat, restricting practice to a single partner during the session, solo practice on the mat and leaving the class if apparently ill etc. if the exposure to COVID-19 is suspected, a test may be required.
If the dojo is required to close during the pandemic, all beginners’ dues will be frozen until we can return to practice. Dojo closing may occur at very short notice. If the dojo is closed, our schedule of Zoom classes will be increased.
